The Acer G226HQL Bbd 21.5-inch Monitor is an excellent choice for budget-conscious consumers. It features full HD (1920×1080) resolution along with an outstanding 5 ms response time. The screen is bright, clear, fast and offers amazing black levels for an LCD display. It can connect to your PC or other devices using VGA or DVI connections but lacks an HDMI connection without using a DVI to HDMI adapter. And this is definitely not something you’d want if you’re looking for a 3D monitor.
Bright LED Back-light
If you’ve never owned a display with an LED back-light you must just get blown away by how bright this display is. Many reviewers have even commented that the default brightness is far too bright for their eyes to handle. Never fear, turning the display brightness down is quick and easy so you won’t burn a hole in your retinas.

Excellent Monitor especially for the price! I have had no problem with this ASUS monitor, in fact I’ve had one for a year now and i just bought another when I ordered my computer to build! These monitors side by side look great and perform great as well! I am hoping to get a Mount for my desk when i am able to and these will be able to mount because they have the VESA mounting spots on the back of the Monitor!
I purchased this monitor to upgrade my old VGA display. (1360×768). I myself am a very serious pc gamer and find it a requirement to have the best display for the game so it may be played how it is meant to be played. I find that this monitor is perfect for the job. (Just a note 1080p looks better the smaller the screen goes so buying a 32 inch 1080p TV may look different)
I’ve only been using this a few days, but the monitor was quick and easy to connect and the picture is clear and bright. I’ve been happy with every Acer product I’ve ever purchased!

This may be a good monitor but I never found out. IT DOES NOT have VESA mounting points on the back. If you plan on using this with the dinky base provided you may be satisfied. I returned it since I must mount it on a swing arm.
The lack of a proper VESA mount could be a major deal-breaker. If you’re satisfied using the stand that it comes with, then this really isn’t that big of a deal. If you’d like to create your own wall of monitors and NEED a VESA mount then keep looking.
Conclusion
The Acer G226HQL Bbd 21.5-inch Monitor is an excellent LCD display for the price. You might find a better display but it’s definitely going to cost more. If you’d like a really nice monitor at a reasonable price, I would definitely have no problem recommending this particular model.
