The AOC U3477PQU is an ultrawide QHD monitor that offers a lot of great features, although it has received somewhat questionable customer reviews in the past. It has a 3440×1440 pixel resolution and offers niceties such as an ergonomic stand and USB quick charge power station.
It also features loads of connectivity such as VGA, DVI, HDMI (with MHL), and DisplayPort connections.
This is a really nice monitor overall, however, I urge you to read the customer reviews before making your final decision.
3440×1440 WQHD Resolution
This mammoth monitor also has a mammoth resolution at 3440×1440 pixels, also known as WQHD. This is not the same as 4K UHD, though. WQHD or Ultrawide Quad HD has a resolution that falls on the spectrum between Full HD and 4K UHD. I really think that this is the perfect resolution for a monitor of this size. 4K UHD might be great for watching videos, however, it tends to make things tiny when dealing with your desktop and apps.
Plenty of Inputs
This monitor has every type of video input conceivable. Whether you need D-sub VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI, this monitor will have you covered. It even features MHL technology for the HDMI port that allows you to seamlessly connect your smartphone or another mobile device.
You would be hard pressed to find a device that you couldn’t connect to this monitor and use it immediately.
This is a gigantic monitor so finding just the right positioning on your desktop might be a bit tricky. The ergonomic stand allows you to adjust the height, tilt and swivel to find just the right viewing angle. I personally prefer an ergonomic stand to a standard tilt stand or even a static stand, especially on a large monitor. This allows you to change the configuration quickly and easily depending on where you are viewing the monitor from in the room.
Multitask Like a Boss
The Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture modes will allow you to multitask multiple inputs like a boss. The picture in picture mode is much like you would find on a television, allowing you to embed one display input inside another. The Picture by Picture mode will allow you to display two individual displays simultaneously next to each other on the screen.
If you’re going to buy a large ultrawide monitor I would highly recommend finding one with these features.
USB Quick Charge
The coolest feature of this monitor is the fact that it doubles as a USB charging station for your desktop. Smartphones, tablets, Bluetooth speakers and a variety of other devices have adopted the USB charging standard. Now you can charge all of your devices in one location without connecting multiple chargers or using precious USB ports on your computer.
